Pre-Adventure Startup

Hi, Everybody! This is my blog! I have a blog! I created it with the help of my friend Lydia, so that everyone could check in on me during my big adventure, the vacation of '07. This way, if there is no posting for a long time, you can probably rest assured that I have been eaten by a bear. Also, since I am going to be traveling for a long time, this is a way we can all keep in contact. Also, I love you people, and I want you to be a part of my every day life, no matter where I am or what I am doing. So, this is my first entry, and this is a picture of me at Murray Street Coffee, typing this. Cool, huh? So far, this is all I have to say. Stay tuned for something interesting soon.

Adina! This is too cool. You're our hero(ine). Its important that you sate your adoring fans. We want blog entries!

Oh one more thing. I heartily recommend that if you are expecting bear encounters ... you should be traveling with a special friend. A special friend is one you can outrun.

I am so jazzed ... I can't wait to for this to take my mind off of Paris Hilton's woes.

You go girl! :)Rik

Bear scat. That is what I want you to describe. I read an article that said you could learn a lot about the natural history of these beasts by carefully analyzing their poopie. I'd examine it myself but we don't have bears around here. We do have rabbits, possums, racoons, squirrels,an occasional fox or coyote. But no bears. So please consider this request.

Very clever, sassy rich. Quit worrying about our trip. Bears are cuddly and misunderstood. And don't forget, after the malling I know a great place to get some eggs. We are going to have a great time. xoxox mcadams

Deenstah, Mackersmom here. Did you know that the lobsters here in Australia, don't have those big claws..Yep, they are clawless and huge, I must add. You and your mate's trip is nearing. Still wish that I was along for the ride!

Adina you rock. The thing is this: Bears can SMELL your fear. If you want to avoid them, don't be scared. But if you're scared, you may as well be bear bait. Just keep that in mind.

deenstah, I think the garden photos are very pretty. As far as the bear thing, maybe you aught to go to the doc in the box for a script of xanax before you and MacAdams leave out for the untamed wild west. By the way..the mosquitos here spread the Ross River Virus instead of West Nile. There are so many deadly things here. Too many to go over but you'll hear my rant when I get back. I say be done with all the stuff that will kill us. Love ya! It's the final countdown before you blast off.

This is McAdams' Big Poppa signing in...Well deenster, I hope you have enjoyed your final few days here in civilization...and ALIVE!!!
I hope you have been training as much as McAdams has. She can run a mile in four minutes flat now. Here's a suggestion, if you can't outrun her, she is quite clumsy, so trip her with a stick. I have heard that you have become quite the bear wrestler, but you still have to worry about mountain lions, wolves, badgers, bison, moose, elk, foxes, and the ever-present rabid squirrel. So, I hope you have not spent too much time preparing for the bear warfare, because there are many more formidable foes in the forest. Oh yeah, be sure not to wear deordorant, bears are attracted to the smell.

Have a great trip!

Hey Big Poppa, don't freak her out anymore than she already is. When did MacAdams start running a 4 minute mile?? Can't wait to see that. By the way Deenstah thanks for the thanks you gave me as a supporter of your big adventure. I was not even mentioned. You'll hear from me little one..hahaha. I love you guys. Keep Macker awake at the wheel. Tomorrow is the big day. You 2 will be in my thoughts & prayers. You to Big Poppa..I love you. We'll be talking to you all along this Big Adventure. Be careful driving MacAdams, I love you. Be Safe. Mom
